Meeting Minutes
August 17, 2010
6:00 pm
Major items discussed were as
follows:
-
Treasurer’s Report: Ed Little reported there was
$2,681.74 in our account.
-
Skip Rollins was present to invite club members
to participate in the Justin Rollins motorcycle event on
Saturday, August 28th. This year’s event will
benefit America’s Wounded Warriors. The motorcycles will be a
part of the Going-Away Parade for the 744th (which is
being deployed on September 11th. Skip’s desire is
to have one or more Wounded Warrior ride in each of our cars in
the parade. Anyone interested in participating, please let
Wayne know and he will let Skip know.
-
Jack Bowes and Arlene Smith from the Town of
Hancock, NH Depot Association, were present to request the
club’s presence at their Autumn Festival on October 9th.
There will be a parade at 11:00 am, a pig roast, foot race and
more. The Car Nutz would be able to hold a 50/50 raffle to
benefit David’s House if that is something we would like to do.
No vote was taken, but members present seemed very
interested….. Contact information regarding this event:
(Arlene Smith 525-4229 / 933-3294–
healthnurturer@gmail.com) and (Jack Bowes 526-8561)..
-
The club would like to give a huge THANK YOU to
Mary Heath for all the hard work she has done submitting our
Cruise Night information to various newspapers, magazines,
internet sites, the WMUR-9 Calendar, “The Best Read” (a
tourism book located at all the rest stops on the interstate
highway)
and more! Her effort landed Car Nutz’ Cruise Night in the
centerfold of “Whips Wheels”! …And, Mary has a verbal
commitment from Kearsarge Magazine that we will be featured in
an article of their Spring publication. All this publicity is
very important to the club and we so appreciate Mary’s effort.
We hope she keeps up the good work!!! Thanks Mary!
-
High Tide’s final “Mega Cruise” is scheduled for
Sunday, September 26th from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. (Rain
Date is October 3rd) There will be a dragster and a
race car on display along with lots of give-away’s, 50/50 and
great food (as always).
-
Wayne is planning to attend a car show in Tucson,
AZ in January. The club in that area just happens to be named
the “Car Nuts” (with an “S”).
Well, after comparing car club names, some sweet car talk (and
probably some general sucking up), the Car Nuts of Tucson, AZ
offered Wayne FREE entry into the show, FREE tickets to their
banquet and 4-nights FREE in the local campground! Whaaat?!!!
-
Noise-R-Us paid for our website service for
another year. (Thank you Shannon!) and she is willing to donate
fireworks to the Winter Carnival again this year if the club is
still willing to set them off.
-
Wayne announced that Joe’s Family Car Care
(Wayne’s sister) has been paying for the give-away’s at our
Cruise Nights for the past few weeks and just wanted to
acknowledge and thank them for that.
-
September 13th will be the final Car
Nutz Cruise Night of the season. We would like to hold a few
special events. Some ideas were: “Cruiser of the Season” (All
Cruisers of the Week this season would be eligible for this
prize), People’s Choice Show Down”, bigger give-away gifts
(perhaps local merchants would be willing to donate prizes).
Kim Rushford offered to donate some trophies for this event if
the club is interested.
